By Mary Sophia. The number of students in the GCC region is expected to grow at a 3% annually between 2013 and 2020 to reach 13.7 million, a new study says. The GCC is expected to experience a recurring spend of $150 billion in its education sector over the next few years, according to a report by Alpen Capital. 
Buoyed by a growing population of both locals and expats, the total number of schools in the region is expected to grow at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 2.4 per cent from 2013 to 2020. More...

Adding even a single woman to a board of directors leads to better corporate governance practices without requiring a critical mass of several women, according to a new study by a researcher at Simon Fraser University. A report by business professor Judith Zaichkowsky concludes companies with even one woman on their boards of directors have stronger corporate governance ratings than those with no women. Companies with at least three women rank even higher depending on specific industry sectors, the study says. More...

L'objectif central des enseignements de la formation préparant ce DU "Expertise de la performance sportive: du muscle au mouvement" est d'apporter une explication en termes d'analyse dynamique du corps en mouvement aux mécanismes mis en jeu par le sportif au cours de sa pratique sportive. Le candidat pourra ainsi acquérir ou actualiser ses connaissances scientifiques et méthodologiques dans le domaine de l'expertise de la performance sportive.
Cette formation, répartie sur l’année universitaire, alterne 132 h d’enseignements théoriques et 140 h de mises en situation. Elle s’adresse à des titulaires d’une licence STAPS, ou d’un titre admis en équivalence (autres licences en relation avec le domaine sportif, diplômes d’État de niveau 3, concours professionnels) ainsi qu’aux kinésithérapeutes, médecins des sport et autres professions en relation avec le domaine médicosportif. Elle est également accessible après une Validation des Acquis Professionnels (VAP) aux candidats pouvant justifier d’au moins 2 ans d’expérience professionnelle dans le domaine concerné par la formation.

La 3ème Grande conférence sociale pour l’emploi se tiendra les 7 et 8 juillet 2014 au Palais d’Iéna à Paris. Ouverte par le président de la République, clôturée par le Premier ministre, elle réunira des représentants des organisations syndicales, d’employeurs et des collectivités territoriales.

Le tableau de bord de la VAE en Poitou-Charentes vient d’être actualisé. En 2013, 2 291 dossiers de recevabilité ont été déposés auprès des certificateurs, représentant une augmentation de 2,5 % par rapport à 2012. Les candidats restent majoritairement des femmes (64 %) et des salariés (63 %). 85 % des candidats ont validés totalement ou partiellement leur diplôme en 2013.
Les deux certifications les plus visées relèvent du secteur sanitaire et social, il s’agit du diplôme d’état d’aide-soignant et du diplôme d’état d’auxiliaire de vie sociale (DEAVS).
