German unis offer 'best deal' for foreign students in Europe

Germany took 36 places out of the top 200 universities in Europe ranked by Times Higher Education (THE) on Thursday.
This made Germany the second most represented country behind the United Kingdom, which "dominated" the rankings, taking nearly a quarter of places (46) and seven of the top ten. In total, 11 German universities appeared in the top 50 across Europe. More...

Pakistanis can now apply to Indian tech universities

Why Turkish women are opting out of the workforce

Data gathered from 1,200 people in 26 districts show that for 77.8% of respondents, the most important problem women face in Turkey is violence. Among female participants, other burning issues included “inequality” (41.8%), “lack of education” (34.8%), “peer pressure” (30.7%) and “family pressure” (26.5%). More...

Canada isn't producing enough tech grads to fill thousands of upcoming jobs, research says

Ottawa Citizen					HomepageBy Vito Pilieci. There will be as many as 182,000 high-paying technology jobs up for grabs in Canada by 2019, but the country’s school systems aren’t producing enough high technology expertise to fill those positions, according to a new research paper.
