Legal training uncertainty as university scraps degree

Knowledge and Innovation Communities network expands

Europe's Knowledge and Innovation Communities, or KICs, have a potential budget of EUR1 billion (US$1.38 billion) each and the huge collaborative research and postgraduate training networks initiative is well under way. Women's rising education not matched by HE leadership

Erasmus+ will support 250,000 Brits to study abroad

There will be study or work abroad opportunities for 250,000 Brits between now and 2020, under the Erasmus+ mobility scheme of the European Union, which was launched in London last Monday. Will data protection legislation harm science?

The European University Association, or EUA, has highlighted potential threats to research posed by the European Parliament's suggested amendments to a proposal for new European data protection regulations. It is also among more than 60 organisations and academics to have signed a joint statement against the rules.
In 2012 the European Commission drafted comprehensive reforms to the European Union's data protection rules to, it said, “strengthen online privacy rights and boost Europe's digital economy”. Read more...

Higher education faces another major upheaval
