The discussion concerning MOOCs at ETH Zurich has led the university to develop the TORQUE concept, which focuses on transforming traditional lecture series into ‘flipped classroom’ sequences by deploying online courses as self-learning preparation. The first results of an online survey which was carried out amongst students, entrepreneurs, leaders of innovation support programs, developers, and MOOC providers are just released. The survey aimed to identify the web skills which are most in demand and evaluate whether or not these are being covered by the current MOOC supply. The goal is to reveal insights that could help strengthen and enhance the use of MOOCs for web talent across Europe, one of the objectives of the European project Foster Web Talent by Encouraging the Use of Massive Open Online Courses Focused on Web Skills.
