New Centre for Global Higher Education announced

HEFCE allocates £3.97 billion to universities and colleges in England for 2015-16

The Higher Education Funding Council for England (HEFCE) will allocate £3.97 billion to 130 universities and higher education colleges and 214 further education and sixth form colleges for the academic year 2015-16.
This funding is allocated for the following key areas and activities:

  • £1,558 million for research
  • £1,418 million for teaching
  • £160 million for knowledge exchange
  • £603 million in capital grants
  • £130 million for national facilities and initiatives
  • £52 million in transitional funding for research
  • £50 million for the Postgraduate Support Scheme.

Learning Together for Change (Conférence)

Learning Together for Change: Advancing Education For All (EFA) through Higher Education est une conférence organisée par l'Association des universités suédoises (SUHF) au titre de contribution aux importants travaux menés par l'AIU en matière d'Education Pour Tous (EPT), mouvement dont l'UNESCO est chef de file.
L'objectif de la conférence est de rassembler des représentants de divers secteurs - dont des universitaires - pour discuter de l'implication de l'enseignement supérieur et de la recherche dans le processus de réalisation du droit à l'éducation pour tous. Structurée autour de quatre thèmes (développement durable et changement; apprentissage, technologie et mondialisation; droits, égalité et genre; qualité), la conférence se tiendra au Nelson Mandela African Institute of Science and Technology à Arusha, Tanzanie, du 27 au 29 avril 2015.
Les inscriptions ont cours jusqu'au 20 mars 2015.

Learning Together for Change (Conference)

Learning Together for Change: Advancing Education For All (EFA) through Higher Education is a conference organised by the Association of Swedish Higher Education (SUHF) as a contribution to IAU's important work and involvement in the UNESCO-led EFA movement.
The aim of the conference is to gather representatives from different sectors, including academia, to discuss how higher education and research can be engaged in the process of achieving the right to education for all.
Structured around four different themes (sustainability and change; learning, technology and globalisation; rights, equality and gender; and quality), the conference will take place at the Nelson Mandela African Institute of Science and Technology in Arusha, Tanzania, from 27 to 29 April 2015.
Deadline for registration is 20 March 2015.
