Experimenting With Aid

The U.S. Department of Education will give its blessing -- and grant federal aid eligibility -- to colleges' experimentation with competency-based education and prior learning assessment. On Tuesday the department announced a new round of its “experimental sites” initiative, which waives certain rules for federal aid programs so institutions can test new approaches without losing their aid eligibility. Le gouvernement regroupe les universités en 25 grands ensembles

Par Marie-Christine Corbier. Quatre communautés d’universités viennent de signer leur contrat avec l’Etat.
« Nous sommes des pastilles vues de Shanghai », lançait, il y a un an, Geneviève Fioraso en faisant allusion au célèbre classement de l’université chinoise de Jiao Tong. La loi sur l’enseignement supérieur et la recherche de juillet 2013 fixait aux 195 établissements universitaires (dont 74 universités) la date du 22 juillet 2014 pour se regrouper.
Le gouvernement tablait sur une trentaine de regroupements. Il y en aura finalement 25, dont 5 associations. En savoir plus...
