Conference: quality assurance of cross-border higher education, 5-6 November 2015, Paris (France)
Registration is open for the conference on quality assurance of cross-border higher education, taking place on 5-6 November in Paris, France. The event will bring together professionals working in the field of higher education from Europe, the Gulf, and Asia-Pacific region to discuss the growing phenomenon of cross-border higher education and its quality assurance.
The conference will also discuss issues related to recognition and ways to build reciprocal trust and better coordination of education provision across borders. A draft programme and registration information are available here.
The conference is co-organised by ENQA (the European Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education) and HCERES (the High Council for the Evaluation of Research and Higher Education, France) and it is the final conference of the project “Quality Assurance of Cross-border Higher Education – QACHE”, supported by the Erasmus Mundus programme of the European Union. The programme will deal with different topics – what constitutes a world class university, real utility of quality assessment regimes and accreditation systems, and using league table and ranking systems as measures of quality. EUREQA project ends with final event and publication
During the event, attended by around 80 participants from the Western Balkans and the rest of Europe, project partners presented their experiences from the project and discussed the lessons learnt. Topics included the enhancement of quality culture, developing an action plan for internal QA, and linking QA to strategic management. Participants also heard about the transferability of European practice to Jordan, through a presentation from the EQuAM project (“Enhancing quality assurance management in Jordanian Universities”). Occasional paper on trends in internal quality assurance
EUA has published a new report examining current European trends in quality assurance (QA) in higher education. The report “ESG Part 1: Are universities ready?” outlines what is known about the current status of implementation of each standard of Part I of the current Standards and guidelines for quality assurance in the European higher education area (ESG).
