L’insertion par l’activité économique
Fin 2017, le secteur de l’insertion par l’activité économique (IAE) comptait un peu plus de 136 000 salariés en insertion, un nombre en hausse de 3 % par rapport à 2016. Répartis dans 3 860 structures conventionnées par l’État, les salariés de l’IAE sont majoritairement dans les ateliers et chantiers d’insertion (ACI, 38 %) et les associations intermédiaires (AI, 41 %). Les entreprises d’insertion (EI) et les entreprises de travail temporaire d’insertion (ETTI) emploient, quant à elles, respectivement 11 % et 10 % des salariés.
Après une stagnation en 2016, les embauches croissent de 7 % en 2017. Les nouvelles embauches progressent de 4,4 % dans les ACI, dont le nombre de structures augmente continûment depuis 2007. La hausse des embauches dans les EI se poursuit quoiqu’à un rythme moins soutenu qu’en 2016 (7,7 % après 10,9 %). Les ETTI tirent profit de la forte accélération de l’emploi intérimaire enregistrée dans le secteur de la construction (+5,9 % de nouvelles missions). L’activité des AI est plus contrastée : le nombre de structures continue de décroître tandis que le volume d’heures travaillées augmente.
