On Tuesday, 31st March, HEPI will be hosting a big conference in conjunction with Elsevier at the Royal Society in London to look back at the REF and forward to the future of research assessment. It will end with a presentation on higher education, the election and the spending review.
Coming just a day after Parliament prorogues for the election campaign and just a few days after Hefce’s funding allocations for 2015/16, it will provide a timely moment to take stock and debate the future. More...
Research is available on the economic benefits of international students, but less is known about the educational benefits. So HEPI and Kaplan used the YouthSight Applicant Omnibus Survey to ask those on the cusp of higher education what they think about the prospect of studying alongside students from abroad.
The results show clearly that higher education applicants recognise there are benefits from learning alongside international students. They also suggest people are not naïve about the ways in which it can alter the student experience.

By taking away the idea of teaching by subject, the school board hopes that the new system will support learning in a changing world.
