Si l'ancrage du bac technologique dans le système éducatif est "profond", "des interrogations émergent sur le positionnement, voire le devenir de la voie technologique" indique un rapport de l'Inspection générale de l'Education nationale et de l'enseignement supérieur. Par ailleurs, souligne ses auteurs, "le discours des autorités ministérielles sur le positionnement futur de la voie technologique dans son ensemble" est absent.
