The Luxembourg Tech School (LTS) is a new extracurricular school concept to support the development of future digital leaders. It is aimed at students aged 15 to 20 years who are passionate about the digital realm and eager to learn and apply technology in a real business context. According to a report published in 2017 by Statistics Sweden (SCB), every tenth person who has completed initial vocational education and training (VET) and is aged between 18 and 34 years had been abroad for at least two weeks within the framework of his/her upper secondary education. This proportion is much higher than the benchmark of 6% set by the European Union. VET content division into modules based on learning outcomes has been initiated by the 2010-15 ESF project for developing sectoral qualifications systems and raising the efficiency and quality of VET. The project structured the so-called core occupations, linked occupations and specialisations of 14 sectors according to EQF levels, allowing labour market relevant competences to be acquired in successive modules.
