En janvier 2016, les Conseils économiques, sociaux et environnementaux (assemblées socio-professionnelles régionales) des régions Aquitaine, Limousin, Poitou-Charentes n’en formeront plus qu’un. Le nouveau CESER sera composé, à titre transitoire pour 2 ans, des membres des trois assemblées actuelles, soit 266 membres. A compter du premier janvier 2018, la nouvelle assemblée serait composée de 180 membres.
