Le leadership transformationnel de n’importe quelle université au cours des premières années du 21ème siècle, marquées par une situation politique et économique chaotique, est un défi. Plus l’établissement est complexe, plus les difficultés sont grandes. L’University of the West Indies (UWI) fait sans conteste partie de ces établissements complexes. Cette université dessert 16 pays anglophones, chaque pays disposant de son propre gouvernement. Les pays sont par ailleurs dispersés sur un million de mètres carrés dans la mer des Caraïbes.
