Le tuteur est le vecteur privilégié de transmission des compétences au sein de l'entreprise.
Il accueille les nouveaux embauchés et les accompagne dans leurs parcours d'intégration, d'insertion, voire de formation.
La désignation d'un tuteur est préconisée pour accompagner un salarié en contrat de professionnalisation ou en période de professionnalisation. Certains secteurs professionnels ont rendu cette désignation obligatoire (voir spécificités).
