Au-delà de ces nouveaux espaces physiques que le numérique fait éclore, on assiste à la création d’espaces virtuels qui les complètent ou qui s’y substituent. La journée a été l’occasion de s’intéresser aux possibilités offertes et aux conséquences à la fois sur les conditions d’études, mais aussi sur les organisations de travail. Retours.

The World-Wide Inaccessible Web, Part 2: Internet routes

International Review of Research in Open and Distributed LearningAdditional data for the follow-up study were collected in China. Using a ‘traceroute’ routine, the study indicates that webpage loading time is linked to the complexity of the Internet routes between Web users and the host server. The World-Wide Inaccessible Web, Part 1: Browsing

International Review of Research in Open and Distributed LearningTwo studies are reported, comparing the browser loading times of webpages created using common Web development techniques. The loading speeds were estimated in 12 Asian countries by members of the PANdora network, funded by the International Development Research Centre (IDRC) to conduct collaborative research in the development of effective distance education (DE) practices. An online survey tool with stopwatch-type counter was used.
