Hungarian Diaspora Council expresses support for the Minority SafePack Initiative

Vincze Loránt presented the Minority SafePack Initiative and asked the representatives of the council to join the petition campaign and help spread the news about the initiative in minority communities, towards majority communities, and to other diaspora organisations. The petition campaign for the Minority SafePack Initiative has officially been launched in Austria today

Minority SafePack Initiative: the first 100,000 signatures

The new website, focusing on easy-to-understand stories from all across Europe was launched along with an MSPI booklet together with other promotional materials. The Federal President of Germany visited the FUEN in Flensburg

Résultat de recherche d'images pour "fuen.org"The Federal President of Germany Mr Frank-Walter Steinmeier visited the Federal Union of European Nationalities in the office of the House of Minorities in Flensburg yesterday, October 5th. FUEN President Mr Loránt Vincze greeted the guests on behalf of the European minority umbrella organisation. The President of Germany is currently in Schleswig-Holstein as part of his inaugural visit to the federal states. Mr Steinmeier aimed to visit the FUEN to learn about the activities in the House of Minorities project, which is a “Place of democracy”. Strong cooperation between German Federal State of Schleswig-Holstein and FUEN

The petition campaign for the Minority SafePack Initiative has been officially launched in Maros county, Transylvania

The update in the story is that the Slovakian government decided to join the lawsuit on the side of the plaintiff – said Vincze Loránt adding that in his view the decision of the Slovakian government is not an unexpected one, and that this attitude shows that minority rights are far from being guaranteed in these courtiers. Résultat de recherche d'images pour "fuen.org"This year's focus is on the implementation of local projects and the promotion of cooperation between authorities and civil society in the Western Balkans. One such project, which is supervised by the FUEN, is an office for minority commissioner in Bijeljina in Bosnia and Hercegovina. To this end, the representatives of the minority NGOs and municipality of Bijeljina have completed a training with Ms. Linda Pieper from Schleswig-Holstein’s state chancellery’s department for external relations and national minorities.
