Purge in Turkey extended to academia

The IAU decries the latest steps taken by the Turkish government which has now suspended thousands of staff members in the Education Ministry, while the University Council (YOK) ordered more than 1500 rectors and deans of universities to resign. This is in complete contradiction to the principles of freedom of speech and respect for human rights, values upheld by IAU along with those of academic freedom and institutional autonomy.. More...

Call for participants: Study Session “Student leaders for human rights, democracy and peace."

ESU - European Students' UnionThe session, organised by the European Students’ Union (ESU) in cooperation with the Youth Department of the Council of Europe, will take place from October 16 to October 22, 2016 (including arrival and departure day) in the European Youth Centre Budapest, Hungary.
