UK HE attractive in Greece and Cyprus, but unis must strike right balance
UK higher education in Greece and Cyprus is well-established and attractive to students, but universities must strike the right balance when adapting a UK curriculum for local delivery, says a new report.
Reporting on the findings of its 2015 review of UK transnational education (TNE) in Greece and Cyprus, the Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education (QAA) found that:
- most UK TNE in Greece and Cyprus is delivered in partnership between a UK university and a local provider, rather than via a UK branch campus
- Greek/Cypriot partners are taking on increased responsibility for the development and management of new degree programmes and content.
- but the onus remains on the UK university to maintain its academic standards and quality as these partnerships are set up and developed. More...
