The Institutional Evaluation Programme of the European University Association

Eric Froment, conseiller pour les affaires internationales à l’AERES, a été nommé président du comité de direction du programme d’évaluation institutionnelle (Institutional evaluation programme). Structure indépendante d’évaluation, le programme d’évaluation institutionnelle est un service issu de l’Association européenne des universités (European University Association - EUA) dont le plan d’activités est soumis à un comité de direction. Au côté des agences d’évaluation nationales, ce programme conduit, sur demande, les évaluations d’établissements d’enseignement supérieur. The Institutional Evaluation Programme (IEP) is an independent membership service of the European University Association (EUA) that has been designed to ensure that higher education institutions gain maximum benefit from a comprehensive evaluation conducted by a team of experienced European higher education leaders. The intention is for these evaluations to support the participating institutions in the continuing development of their strategic management and internal quality culture.
So far, 250 evaluations have been conducted in 39 countries in Europe and worldwide, making the IEP methodology one of the best and most widely tested among international evaluation programmes currently available to universities in Europe. The Institutional Evaluation Programme (IEP) is a full member of ENQA (the European Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education). The IEP is committed to continuous improvement and adheres to good international and European practice, such as the ‘Standards and Guidelines for Quality Assurance in the European Higher Education Area’.
