Selon les données relatives aux vœux d’orientation confirmés sur la plate-forme Parcoursup en 2018, un élève de Terminale scolarisé en France émet en moyenne 7,4 vœux. De fortes disparités sont cependant observées selon la série de baccalauréat préparée. Parcoursup n’impose plus au candidat de hiérarchiser ses vœux ni de faire un vœu obligatoire en licence pour certaines séries de bac. En analysant la composition de la liste individuelle des vœux, la Licence demeure le vœu le plus fréquent. Toutefois, par rapport à la campagne APB 2017, on observe un report des vœux de Licence, principalement vers les B.T.S. qui gagnent significativement en attractivité. La plupart des candidats ne choisissent qu’un seul type de formation (36 %) ou le complètent par un deuxième choix (33 %), notamment lorsque le premier concerne une filière sélective.
