EUA launches new Learning & Teaching Initiative
An integral part of the Initiative activities will be the first European Learning & Teaching Forum scheduled for 28 and 29 September 2017 in Paris. The event, organised in collaboration with the Conférence des présidents d’université (CPU), will facilitate the exchange of experiences on learning and teaching in higher education. In order to prepare and complement the Forum, EUA will organise thematic peer groups made up of its members that will discuss critical issues in learning and teaching. EU budget 2017: Increases secured for Horizon 2020 and Erasmus+
The negotiations intensified this autumn after the European Commission released a new draft that included, notably, an increase in funding for Horizon 2020 and Erasmus+. In its campaign "EU funding for universities," EUA consistently argued for more and better funding for these important programmes, and highlighted that research funding should not be diverted for other purposes such as the loan-based European Fund for Strategic Investments (EFSI).
