Con ocasión del día, se organizan una gran variedad de eventos en todo el continente: actividades para y con niños, programas de televisión y radio, cursos de lengua y conferencias. Las autoridades nacionales y otros socios tienen libertad para organizar cualquier tipo de actividad. Auf Initiative des Europarats in Straßburg wird seit 2001 jedes Jahr am 26. September der Europäische Tag der Sprachen gefeiert.
Anlässlich dieses Tages werden europaweit zahlreiche Veranstaltungen organisiert: Aktionen für und mit Kindern, TV- und Radioprogramme, Sprachkurse und Tagungen. Die nationalen Stellen und verschiedenen Partner haben freie Hand bei der Organisation ihrer Aktivitäten. Zur Koordinierung der auf nationaler Ebene organisierten Aktivitäten bittet der Europarat die beteiligten Länder, nationale Koordinatoren für diesen Tag zu benennen. More...

Evropský den jazyků, který je iniciativou Rady Evropy ve Štrasburku, se každoročně slaví od roku 2001 dne 26. září.
Při této příležitosti se v Evropě pořádá celá řada akcí, ať už to jsou aktivity pro děti a s dětmi, televizní a rozhlasové programy, hodiny výuky jazyků či konference. Při organizaci aktivit mají příslušné úřady na národní úrovni spolu s různými partnery volnou ruku. A l'occasion de la Journée, une série d'événements est organisée dans toute l'Europe, mais aussi au-delà: manifestations pour et avec les enfants, émissions de radio et de télévision, cours de langues, conférences, etc. Les autorités nationales et les divers partenaires, notamment les écoles, sont libres de décider de la nature des activités qu'ils souhaitent organiser. An increasing number of countries now require adult migrants to demonstrate proficiency in the language of the host country before granting entry, residence or work permits or citizenship. Language training is often available although the conditions vary. The level of proficiency required is usually based on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) and a language test may be obligatory. The approach to testing varies and there is a considerable difference in the levels of proficiency required – ranging from A1 to B1 or even B2 (oral) of the CEFR. More...
