Le phénomène du crowdfunding

http://profile.ak.fbcdn.net/hprofile-ak-frc3/373036_123806094350850_756054066_q.jpgPar Patrick Arnoux.

http://t3.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcSse6pqCmvh7Ht8KsFS5gPea4DWvG1IuxMJbTy6jH3XEkcVK7xy_auy3DSaPar .
Suite...

Low-Cost B.A. Starting Slowly in Two States

New York TimesBy . With tuition, student loan debt and default rates all spiraling higher, what’s not to love about a $10,000 bachelor’s degree?
In the last two years, two Republican governors — Rick Perry in Texas and Rick Scott in Florida — have challenged their states’ public colleges to develop bachelor’s degrees costing no more than $10,000, less than a third of the average sticker price for tuition and fees at a four-year public college. Governor Perry said he hoped 10 percent of the state’s degrees would meet that goal with online learning and new efficiencies. Governor Scott sought low-cost degrees in high-demand fields. A massive march to education

http://www.globaltimes.cn/Portals/0/logo.jpgBy Liao Fangzhou. They are called MOOC (massive online open courses) and they are the latest form of interactive online education. These courses offer free access to some of the world's most exclusive and elite universities and now they are being embraced by Shanghai students, young and old, in a variety of courses.
Distance education is not new - in 1728 a Boston shorthand teacher offered mail order lessons. But radio and television changed the method of communication and approach. By the end of the 1930s when radio had become widespread, many US colleges and universities began broadcasting educational programs for public schools. In 1969, the Open University was founded in the UK, offering course-related radio and television lectures through the BBC. More...

Does Germany have the education edge?

http://profile.ak.fbcdn.net/hprofile-ak-frc1/276945_19360679697_447636856_q.jpgGermany has one of the lowest youth unemployment rates in Europe but the standard of its education system is full of contradictions.
Its apprenticeship scheme is praised around the world, but its universities struggle to compete internationally and a sixth of adults have the reading age of a ten-year-old.
German schools divide pupils at an early age. When they are aged ten or 11 children are put into one of three tiers of school.
The brightest head to the Gymnasium, the average to the Realschule, while those who fail to pass exams go to the Hauptschule.

How Sweden can attract first-rate international universities

http://www.svensktnaringsliv.se/template/ver1-0/img/svensktnaringsliv-logotyp.pngForeign higher education institutions have difficulty entering the Swedish market to establish branch campuses. This should get policy-makers to rethink and concentrate on simplifying the regulatory framework involved, pursuing active marketing, and implementing coordinated efforts for this. Thus argue, Tobias Krantz, Head of Education, Research and Innovation at the Confederation of Swedish Enterprise, and Maria Rankka CEO of the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce.
World class higher education and research are critical to a Sweden that must remain an attractive country for entrepreneurship, investment, jobs, and welfare – now and in coming years. Demands in the global economy continually sharpen. Opening Swedish higher education to new influences, to change, and to allow new participants in the market is essential for the country to improve quality and strengthen competitiveness. More...
