Les débats régionaPetiteux pour nourrir le projet "Quelle France dans 10 ans ?" menés par Commissariat général à la stratégie et à la prospective se sont poursuivis avec une étape à Toulouse, le 12 novembre dernier. Consacrées au modèle productif, deux tables rondes ont réuni des économistes, des entreprises, des responsables de pôles de compétitivité et des syndicalistes. Avec deux thèmes au cœur des échanges : « Comment faire émerger les entreprises de taille intermédiaires (ETI) ? » et « Le capital humain, levier d’adaptation du système productif ».

Universities UK (UUK) has this month published a new report entitled “The funding challenge for universities”.

Focusing on England in particular, the report examines the “challenges for universities and government in funding any expansion of student numbers, given the backdrop of current funding restraints”. Drawing on research by the Institute for Fiscal Studies [IFS], the report calls for consideration of funding options that are “sustainable and ensure that higher education remains accessible to all applicants”.

Dans le cadre du lancement d'Horizon 2020 en France, le M.E.S.R. et le réseau des Points de Contact Nationaux organisent une série de manifestations sur les opportunités de financement proposées par ce programme entre le 7 novembre et le 17 décembre 2013.
Objectifs :  Faire connaître les différentes priorités et programmes d’Horizon 2020, expliquer ce qui change par rapport au 7ème PCRDT, préparer techniquement la communauté à répondre aux appels. Ces sessions d’information/formation d’une demi-journée chacune sont  ciblées sur des communautés et feront intervenir des spécialistes de chaque domaine, des représentants de la Commission européenne et des représentants des ministères.

This is the 21st issue of the magazine since it was launched in January 2007, so we can, to some extent, claim that Global Focus has “come of age”.
Global Focus was conceived as a way of improving communication between the EFMD and its members. But it was always regarded as something rather more sophisticated than a simple PR tool. It was seen as a forum for lively debate and information on the major current issues of management education and a way for EFMD to formulate, consolidate and share policy on the basis of its European underpinning and its increasingly global outreach and vision.
It has played a full part in the work of EFMD, publicising and reporting on meetings and conferences and providing background briefings and interviews with key speakers as well as, for example, explaining the development of policy in key areas such as accreditation.The seven years covered by these 21 issues have, of course, been among the most volatile and disruptive in the long history of management education. And their effects have yet to become totally apparent.
Global Focus has worked hard to keep up with these developments though a wide range of articles and features that particularly address the key issues facing EFMD member organisations.
