Université La Rochelle

The University of La Rochelle, established in 1993, is a young but comprehensive university open to its territory and looking at the world. Enjoying a lovely location between the harbour and the city of La Rochelle on the Atlantic coast, the university enrolls some 8.300 students, of whom 12% come from abroad. The percentage of internationals continues to grow, evidence of the university’s policy of openness. Since its founding, the university has been committed to a strong international policy and has set up many European agreements through the Erasmus+ programme as well as international partnerships throughout Pacific-Asia, Amercias and Africa. The ULR has shown a great interest in Asian culture and language studies. Entrepreneurial and innovative the university offers more than 80 different government-sanctioned degrees (diplômes d’état) in study fields which focus on axes such as: the study of coastal environments, Asian languages, and sustainable development.
