The World’s Wealthiest Universities

The website THEBESTSCHOOLS has published a list of the world’s richest universities, measured by financial endowment. Unsurprisingly, first place goes to Harvard with a total endowment of $34.5 billion and an annual research budget of $1.01 billion. The table is dominated by American institutions but several places from outside the USA make it into the top 100. The most remarkable of these is King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST), in Thuwai, Saudi Arabia, in sixth place with an endowment of $20 billion in 2015. More...
