National Strategy for International Education 2025
On 30 April 2016, the Australian Government released the National Strategy for International Education 2025. It sets out a 10-year plan for developing Australia’s role as a global leader in education, training and research. It provides a framework of priorities for the Australian international education community to strengthen and grow the sector.
The key focus areas of the National Strategy are described through three pillars:
- Strengthening the fundamentals – across Australia’s education systems
- Transformative partnerships – across the breadth of linkages between people, institutions and governments
- Competing globally – strengthening our brand, coordination and reputation.
The Australian Government will provide $12 million over four years from 2016–17 to support implementation of the National Strategy for International Education 2025.
The National Strategy aligns with the National Innovation and Science Agenda, which will further enhance Australia’s global reputation as a leader in research and education into the future. More...
