'The Strategic Role of Universities in the SET-Plan' - Event Report

On 11 December 2014, EUA organised a side event at the SET Plan Conference 2014 in Rome, Italy. The event, focusing on 'The Strategic Role of Universities in the SET Plan', presented the recently launched UNI-SET project to the conference audience and included a panel discussion on the role of universities in research and higher education in the energy field.
About 60 conference participants attended the side event which was chaired by Professor Torbjørn Digernes, Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) and Chair of the European Platform of Universities Engaged in Energy Research (EUA-EPUE). Professor Digernes started the session by highlighting the need to speed up R&D efforts, as well as education and training, in order to meet the targets of European energy policy for 2030 and beyond.
