Many African countries have, during the last decade, experienced significant economic growth 2 . Some studies show that there has been noticeable scientific growth as well 3 . Over 20 countries have, at least technically, crossed the line ($1000 GDP/capita) gaining the label of Middle Income Countries (MICs). It is interesting that when many countries in the high income countries were in recession, African countries were showing economic growth. More in Horizons Vol. 20 N° 3, November 2014.
