Student loans chief offered to quit over Wonga-style letters

The head of the Student Loans Company offered to resign over "misleading" Wonga-style letters sent out by the agency in an attempt to recover debts, it has emerged.
Christian Brodie apologised to ministers after it emerged that around 309,000 ex-students had been sent letters from a fictitious company chasing up late payments. More...
