NTEU supports CSP funding of sub degree higher education courses in public TAFE and universities

Amongst the avalanche of government funding cuts, student fee rises, deregulation and privatisation in the Abbott Government’s first Federal Budget there was one reform arising from a recommendation of the Kemp-Norton Review of the Demand Driven Model that the NTEU does not oppose.
The NTEU supports the extension of Commonwealth Supported Places (CSPs) to sub degrees in higher education courses – in public institutions.
Such courses are best delivered in public universities and TAFE institutions, which have the expertise and infrastructure to provide students with a quality and well supported education.
The NTEU does not support the extension of CSPs to private providers
 of degrees or sub-degree higher education courses. More...
