Why more black and Asian teenagers are choosing university

The Guardian homeBy . Government programmes have played a part in the increase in applications from minority groups, but so has institutional racism. As a teacher who taught and trained in West Yorkshire and now works in an all-boys, multicultural, inner-city London secondary, news that black and Asian students are more likely than their white counterparts to apply to university comes as no great shock.
