The Government has announced that shared services will receive an exemption from VAT, removing what the Diamond Review identified as a significant barrier to collaboration between universities. In order for the higher education sector to take advantage of this change and establish high-quality shared services, institutions will need to simplify, streamline and improve their internal processes.
