Universities and regional development in an open knowledge society sharing innovation and knowledge in European universities

Books_SkyEADTU ANNUAL CONFERENCE 2011, 3 and 4 November 2011. This year’s annual conference will take place at Anadolu University in Eskişehir/Turkey. First founded as Eskişehir Academy of Economy and Commercial Sciences in 1958, it became Anadolu University in 1982. Since then, Anadolu University has strived to be the best. Today, Anadolu University is considered one of the most modern, dynamic, and innovative universities not only in Turkey but around the world. One of the major strengths of the University is the academic staff who are committed to excellence in teaching and research in an academically and technologically enhanced environment. They in return, strive to pass on their knowledge and skills to their students in a dynamic and creative teaching environment. The University is proud to have implemented one of the most successful distance education programs in the world, which is taken as a model by many institutions. Today, the number of students in the 3 distance education faculties is 1,5 million.
The scope of the conference is ‘universities and regional development in an open knowledge society sharing innovation and knowledge in European universities'.

Parallel strands around these themes will be organised, all with reference to regional development.
