Page for #IDVmatrix on #LMS description and setting it amidst other tools

Inge Ignatia de WaardBy Inge Ignatia de Waard. In the past year I have been adding some Instructional Design descriptions in my notebook. After I while I realized that something useful could come out of this very varied collection, so now I am putting some of these pages online (the Instructional Design Variation matrix or IDVmatrix). The idea is to grow a compendium of these pages, adding parameters that are meaningful in ID to each of those learning/teaching design elements, and eventually use these parameters as a matrix to use on the job. I will only write them here, and add the #IDVmatrix hashtag for easy recall once these pages grow. More...

Murder on the academic express

Résultat de recherche d'images pour "hepi"“Your case is very like another I solved only recently,” he said. “Whilst a train was snowbound, a savage murder was committed. Résultat de recherche d'images pour "hepi"I dropped by the Barbican at the weekend, for the Battle of Ideas. It was my third visit to the annual festival to take part in a stimulating event about higher education. This time, the topic was ‘Universities: Can’t get no satisfaction’. More...

How FE colleges deliver dynamism and entrepreneurship in degrees

Résultat de recherche d'images pour "hepi"The Post-18 Review has the potential to create real opportunities for further education (FE) or alternatively to be a damp squib. Which will it be. More...

We need a step-change in higher technical learning to boost productivity

Résultat de recherche d'images pour "hepi"According to the recently-published Skills and Employment Survey, the UK workforce is working harder than ever before. Though the image of exhausted workers may be depressingly familiar, it is nevertheless at odds with official statistics that indicate productivity has hardly risen since the financial crisis of 2008. Some good budget-time reading? Try Vicky Olive’s HEPI report on University Cross-Subsidies

Résultat de recherche d'images pour "hepi"We at HEPI are delighted that Vicky Olive’s report How much is too much? Cross-subsidies from teaching to research in British Universities has put her on the ‘Wonk to watch’ list at Wonkhe’s awards this year. It’s a piece well-armed with ‘killer facts’ with continuing relevance to policy debates. More...
