Iremam’s Blog aims to give a day to day glimpse into scientific research activities on the ground in the Arab and Muslim world. A glimpse into the everyday, long-term activities of IREMAM’s members, between the long-term deadlines of academic publications, workshops or research papers. This includes research projects in preparation, field research missions, work on the sources, readings and meetings, and responding to the public (press, charity associations, etc.). Part of this too are the young researchers-in-training, the activities of scientific publication, documentation and communication. By giving access to a day in the life of a research laboratory, IREMAM hopes to contribute to the circulation of information in the scientific community, and beyond that, to speak to a public curious about the research process and its interactions with the world around it. IREMAM’s publication policy is based on joint publication conventions with different publishers, and research centers abroad: CNRPAH, IFAO, IFPO, Actes Sud/Sindbad, Karthala, Geuthner, Paris-Méditerranée, PUF, Publisud.

Aside from book publication, IREMAM actively supports the publication of six scientific reviews:

Digital Publications

Iremam is a member of OpenEdition Books. The integral copies of around forty works are accessible in this digital library of the humanities and social sciences.

Hosted by the OpenEdition Books platform, the product of a close partnership with Cleo, and funded through the investment program Equipex 2012, this project aims to:
 
Highlight the editorial patrimony of Iremam, from its creation to its most recent publications, while developing new editorial objectives;
 
 Provide, thanks to the HTML format, open access to the unit’s publications;
 Allow text searches within each book, and more closely within each chapter;
 
Expand distribution and readership with a commercial offer aimed at libraries (see carte des institutions abonnées) as well as at individuals;
 Provide portable formats (Epub and PDF) adapted to e-readers and smartphones for reading online;
 Benefit from the visibility of a consortium of publishers (25 publishers) made up of university presses, of publishing houses, and of units with their own dedicated publishing service.

The platform is also an opportunity to give new visibility to the work of Iremam’s members. The possibility to build thematic groups opens the potential for giving a continuity to research that is often segmented across time.
