On the anniversary of the École Polytechnique massacre, the focus of women’s groups across the province was curbing violence aimed at aboriginal women.The anniversary marked the last of 12 days of action against violence toward women, and this year was particularly poignant as it came only weeks after Crown prosecutors announced no police officers will be charged in connection with allegations that Sûreté du Québec officers physically and sexually assaulted several aboriginal women in Val-d’Or.
