The YouTube Devolution

A fascinating look at how YouTube is changing culture. For me, YouTube has changed how I view video - now I get news of, say, the way from many sources, some right on the spot, instead of the evening news. It's also how I saw the coverage of Zidane's headbutt over and over again (yeah, I confess, I'm a Zidane headbutt junkie). This author draws out another aspect: "Suddenly, via YouTube links, those lost moments click back into view, as if a telegram from your great-grandfather were showing up in your e-mail."
