Universities in Vietnam are racing to recruit permanent instructors with doctorates in order to avoid an enrollment ban by the Ministry of Education and Training (MoET), with many schools offering cash in addition to many other benefits, including the right to become the co-owners of the institutions, to their prospective candidates.
In January, the education ministry suspended 71 higher education institutions from accepting new students into 207 university-level disciplines following a MoET inspection at 242 junior colleges and universities nationwide, where the education watchdog checked if they violated its regulations on the number of tenured lecturers. By Wang Fan. Zhejiang University, considered one of the top universities in China, is bringing in a new freshman recruitment system this year, in which the national college entrance exam will no longer be the only assessment.
The "trinity system" will combine candidates' performance in high school evaluation tests, recruitment interviews by the university and the national college entrance exam.
The national college entrance exam, known as gaokao, which used to be the sole assessment for Chinese high school graduates for university enrollment, will account for 60 percent in the trinity system. Les premiers Massive Online Open Courses (MOOC) sont des cours gratuits en ligne ouverts à un nombre illimité de participants. L’assiduité des internautes peut entrainer l’acquisition d’une certification payante. Selon le Monde daté du 16 janvier 2014, 80 % des établissements proposent des cours en ligne aux États-Unis, ils sont moins de 3 % en France. La durée moyenne d’un MOOC est de 10 à 12 semaines. U-Multirank will launch Tuesday, 13 May 2014!
The press event will be livestreamed for the public’s viewing. Details regarding the livestream will be made available once available. U-Multirank will cover more than 800 higher education institutions from more than 70 countries worldwide.
The fields of study for 2014 will include Business, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Physics.

Pre-registration for U-Multirank 2015 is open!
At this time registration of interest is possible for institutions that want to join in 2015. The fields then will probably be Computer Science, Psychology, Sociology/Social Sciences and Music.
Institutions which have already registered for 2014 do not have to re-register for 2015!
