U.K. Higher Education Giving Rises 35% in 5 Years, Study Finds
A new report says U.K. universities raised more than $1.1-billion in the 2010-11 fiscal year, a 35 percent increase over five years, but could see far greater philanthropic returns by improving student experience, building fundraising programs, and reaching out to alumni, Times Higher Education and Civil Society Media report. The study, commissioned by the Higher Education Funding Council for England, estimated that university giving would top $3.2-billion by 2022 if 5 percent of former students became contributors.
