Japan, Korea should set up varsities here

KUALA LUMPUR: Former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad yesterday expressed hope that Japan and Korea would set up universities or training centres here.
This would be useful for those who are hampered by the high costs of studies in both countries.
"I hope the Japanese and Koreans will consider setting up universities or training institutes here, like their American and British counterparts.
"It would be better if teaching in those places are conducted in their respective languages to allow better assimilation of cultures," said Dr Mahathir in his keynote address at the Look East Policy's 30th anniversary gala dinner, organised by the Alumni Look East Policy Society (Aleps) at the Putra World Trade centre here.
