L’enseignement professionnel reste mal connu et ne fait pas toujours l'objet d'une vision collective partagée. La filière professionnelle, et à un moindre degré la filière technologique, restent mal considérées, et la coordination entre l'Éducation nationale et les entreprises demeure trop faible.
Il est donc utile de retracer, dans les grandes lignes, les choix qui ont conduit à l'organisation actuelle de la filière professionnelle.
Et il s'agit ensuite de se demander comment enclencher une nouvelle dynamique, ce que propose cette note de Terra Nova.

New Zealander to Review Australian Vocational Education and Training (VET) Sector

At the Annual Dinner of the Australian Chamber of Industry and Commerce (ACCI) in Canberra on Wednesday 28 November, Prime Minister Scott Morrison announced that the Government has commissioned a “review of our vocational education sector in Australia” which would be “conducted very promptly and quickly” by Steven Joyce, former New Zealand Minister for Tertiary Education, Skills and Employment who admits that his understanding of the sector in Australia "is not long or detailed".
