Devices Lend a Learning Hand

Devices Lend a Learning Hand
Naturally people are sceptical, but I think this initiative that gives kindergarten students the opportunity to use Palm Pilots in their studies is a good one. For one thing, it's a lot cheaper than buying them computers. They can use them outdoors. It gets them ready for when they're older and Palms (or their equivalent) will be in everyday use. More...

TechLearn Will Close

According to Seb Schmoller (I can't find independent confirmation at JISC or on Google), "TechLearn will close. The Centre acted as a source of information and advice to the JISC community on how best to take advantage of the new technologies for learning and teaching and how these technologies might impact on strategic and operational planning. Jenny Mackness, Jenny Connected, 2018/03/16
I've said in the past that knowledge is recognition, and if I were pressed to describe what I think truth is, I would say that it is a strong feeling of recognition. This I think is consistent with what the early empiricists (like David Hume) would say. Formally, truth is an attitude toward a proposition: we say that a propositoon is 'true' or 'not true' and then try to explain that through an interpretation (such as Tarski's theory of truth, or model theory, or some such thing).
