« J’ai fait un rêve » : Un monde où chacun avait un Bac + 5

http://blog.educpros.fr/isabelle-barth/files/2013/05/isabelle-barth_1.jpgBlog Educpros d'Isabelle Barth. Voir l'article...

The Deepening of Photography

By Oronte. I’m on the email list for a group called Saigon Kids, mostly Americans who were children and teens in Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, and Thailand in the 1950s and ‘60s, due to parents who were teachers, government officials, diplomatic staff, civilian contractors, medical professionals, and military in the early years of the war. I was born in Saigon; my father was on a USAID team from Southern Illinois University Carbondale, where he taught. Read more...

When You See Yourself

By Lee Skallerup Bessette. Maria from Sesame Street, or rather the actress and writer Sonia Manzano, is retiring. She has been (rightfully) celebrated as an important Latina role model, and a trailblazer when it came to diverse representation on television (among other things). A bilingual small business owner, wife, and mother, who was also patient and caring and often went toe-to-toe with Oscar the Grouch showing just enough frustration with him, but ultimately always accepting him as a part of the giant community. By now, most of us recognize race as central to just about every field of social and humanistic inquiry. We know there’s a broad and growing field of scholarship on contemporary and historical conceptions of race, and plenty of public scholars eager to put those resources to work for us in our classrooms (e.g., the #FergusonSyllabus, the #CharlestonSyllabus, and many more). Read more...

Heather’s excellent post on fostering on active online discussion got me thinking about analog participation. That is, participation in the classroom.
