Selon l'OCDE, "il existe un risque sérieux que les personnes nées à partir du milieu des années 1960 (générations post-babyboom) et ayant un faible niveau d'éducation connaissent une vieillesse difficile". En cause : les difficultés d'insertion sur le marché du travail qui affectent la condition sociale au moment de la retraite et le raccourcissement des carrières qui ne permet pas de compenser des débuts professionnels heurtés.
