Georgia: anti-torture committee commends authorities for combatting ill-treatment, urges to address informal prisoner hierarchy

In the report on Georgia published today, the Council of Europe anti-torture Committee welcomed the absence of allegations of ill-treatment in the institutions visited, commended the efforts to address overcrowding, improve access to healthcare and living conditions. However, the committee urged the authorities to immediately address inter-prisoner violence, acute deficit of out-of-cell activities, the usage of “de-escalation rooms” as punishment, and serious shortcomings in the provision of mental healthcare. EUA asks Technopolis to investigate Read & Publish agreements

EUA and a coalition of 24 organisations representing national rectors' conferences, national negotiating consortia and libraries are funding the study in order to gain a better picture of the implications of Read & Publish agreements. Is the restructuring of the European higher education sector coming to an end?

In a recently published briefing, EUA explores the characteristics of these mergers, clusters and concentration processes over the last two decades, and exposes different commonly found profiles. Although higher education systems in some countries are close to consolidation and merger activity is starting to decrease, system restructurings are still in process in other countries, with more merger activity expected in the coming year in countries as diverse as France, Greece or Lithuania. 4 eurodéputé.e.s docteur.e.s à nouveau candidat.e.s pour la 8ème mandature 2019-2024

Blog Educpros de Doctrix. Parmi les 12 eurodéputés français, seuls 4 sont à nouveau candidat le 26 mai 2019 sur l’une des 34 listes officielles selon ministère de l’intérieur pour la 8^ème mandature 2019-2024. Rappelons que la France a le droit à 79 eurodéputés (contre 74 auparavant) mais 74 entreront en fonction car il se peut encore qu’il n’y ait pas « brexit » au final ! Rappelons aussi qu’il faut atteindre 5% aux élections pour obtenir un eurodéputé. Plus...
