La recherche orientée par la conception (Sanchez & Monod-Ansaldi, 2015), traduction de Design-Based Research (Anderson & Shattuck, 2012) , est une démarche dans laquelle les chercheurs sont impliqués dans les différentes étapes de la conception d’un dispositif, d’un outil, etc. Elle est née d’un double constat. Le premier est celui des conséquences néfastes de la non-prise en compte des résultats de la recherche dans la conception d’un certain nombre de projets.
