Celebrating a Decade of the QS World University Rankings

By Laura B. Since the first edition of the QS World University Rankings® was published in 2004, it’s fair to say quite a lot has changed! The main ranking is now joined by numerous others, including the QS World University Rankings by Subject, QS Best Student Cities, and regional rankings such as the QS University Rankings: Asia and QS University Rankings: Latin America. Among the newest editions to the QS rankings portfolio is the QS Top 50 Under 50, which highlights the world’s top-ranking universities established within the last half-century (see the latest edition, published this week, here). National university rankings to include social contribution

Asia leads QS ranking of top 50 universities under 50

Singapore’s Nanyang Technological University, or NTU, overtook Hong Kong University of Science and Technology into first place in the new QS ranking of the world’s top 50 universities under 50 years old. There were 25 countries with at least one university in the ranking, and with 10 places, Australia had the most excellent young universities. Read more...

Asian universities take top five spots in list of top 50 universities under 50

The rankings list the top 50 universities that are less than 50 years old. Taking the number one spot is Nanyang Technological University (NTU Singapore), a specialist in science and technology, and the only Singaporean institution listed. In the world rankings published by QS last week, NTU Singapore was ranked at 39. More...

L’Université Blaise Pascal dans le Top 500 de Shangaï

AccueilL’Université Blaise Pascal (UBP) entre cette année dans le Top 500 des universités mondiales du classement de Shangaï. Elle figure, également pour la 2ème année, parmi les 200 meilleures au monde pour sa recherche en physique.
Inscrite par erreur sous le nom d’« University of Auvergne » dans le prestigieux classement, l’UBP est ainsi placée parmi les 21 établissements français présents dans le classement de Shanghai (16 universités et 5 grandes écoles) et occupe la 14ème place ex-æquo des universités françaises.
Une reconnaissance internationale de l'excellence de la recherche à l'UBP, confirmée par d'autres classement français...

Brazilian University Ranking (RUF)

Brazil’s leading newspapers, the “Folha de São Paulo just published he third edition of the RUF (Ranking Universitário Folha). The RUF rankings are based on 5 basic and weighted criteria: 42% research (with 8 different indicators), 32% teaching quality (4 indicators) 18% labor market evaluation (from a survey with almost 2000 professionals responsible for recruiting to the labor market), 4% internationalization (2 indicators) and 4% innovation (1 indicator).

The QS Rankings: Two British Universities Ahead of Harvard

British universities took four out of the top six places.
