QAA has published revised Subject Benchmark Statements for Law, Economics, Osteopathy, and Dance, Drama and Performance that form part of the 2013-16 review.
Subject Benchmark Statements form part of the UK Quality Code for Higher Education. They set out expectations about standards of degrees in a range of subject areas, describing what gives a discipline its coherence and identity, and defining what can be expected of a graduate in terms of the abilities and skills needed to develop understanding or competence in the subject. QAA reviews Subject Benchmark Statements regularly to ensure that they remain current and useful. More...

On 12 and 13 May the ATHENA Regional Benchmarking Forum was held at Yerevan State University in Armenia.
The event represented a major milestone in the EUA-led ATHENA project fostering university autonomy and financial sustainability in Armenia, Moldova and Ukraine. More than 100 representatives from ATHENA partner universities, National Rectors’ Conferences and ministries in Armenia, Moldova and Ukraine, as well as their university partners from Finland, the Netherlands and Portugal came together to take stock of the progress achieved with regard to reforms of university governance and funding throughout the past three years.
