Al Fanar Media has reviewed the process of international accreditation of universities in the Middle East and has published a list of accredited programs. 
Arab and Turkish universities are attempting to establish an international presence and have turned to international accreditation agencies in Europe and North America in an attempt to guarantee the quality of their programs. More...

RAEX Global Competitiveness Forum in Moscow Brings Together Academia and Employers

'Open border' universities perform well in U-Multirank 2019

‘Open border’ universities– according of the last U-Multirank results  –are more successful than universities with low international exchange in engaging and transferring knowledge to industry (39% higher share of publications together with industrial partners), in establishing spinoff companies (80% higher) and in patenting their ideas (2.5 times more), and their research shows higher outreach (36% higher number of top cited publications). Reuters European Rankings

The latest table from Reuters Top 100: Europe’s Most Innovative Universities shows little change from last year. The top university is the Catholic University of Leuven (KU Leuven) in the Flanders region of Belgium. Death penalty in Belarus : execution condemned

Conseil de l'EuropeThe Committee of Ministers deeply deplores the execution of Mr Alyaksandr Zhylnikau, announced on 13 June 2019.
It calls on the Belarussian authorities not to carry out the execution of Mr Vyachaslau Sukharko, condemned for the same crime as Mr Alyakasandr Zhylnikau.
The Committee of Ministers reaffirms its unequivocal opposition to the death penalty and reiterates its strong call on Belarus to establish a moratorium on executions as a first step towards abolition of the death penalty.
The Committee of Ministers remains ready to assist the Belarussian authorities to promote a public debate on the issues relating to the full abolition of the death penalty, as foreseen in the Belarussian Constitution. More...
